Every Dear One

Terms of Use

Last updated: 31 May 2026

These terms cover your use of Every Dear One. By creating an account, you agree to them. They're meant to be fair and readable, not to trip you up.

What the service does

Every Dear One lets you write letters and notes and have them delivered by email to people you choose, at times you choose, including to your future self. It also keeps a private record for you and reminds you of dates that matter.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login details safe and for what happens under your account. Please give accurate information when you sign up, and let us know if you think someone else has accessed your account.

Using it kindly and lawfully

Every Dear One exists to help people care for one another. You agree not to use it to:

Because we send email on your behalf, misuse affects everyone's ability to have letters delivered. We may suspend or close accounts that are used to send unwanted or harmful messages.

The people you write to

You confirm that you have a genuine personal relationship with the people you add, and a reasonable basis to contact them. Every email includes an unsubscribe link; if someone opts out, we'll stop sending to them, and you agree to respect that.

Your content is yours

The letters and words you write remain yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to store and deliver them for you. We don't claim ownership and we don't use your words for anything other than running the service.

Free and paid plans

There is a free plan with generous limits, and a paid plan for those who want more. The current limits and prices are shown on the site and may change over time; we'll give reasonable notice of significant changes. [If/when you take payment, add billing, renewal, and refund terms here.]

Availability

We work to deliver every letter on time, but the service is provided "as is." We can't absolutely guarantee that every email will arrive exactly when intended, as email delivery depends partly on systems outside our control. Please don't rely on it as the sole means of time-critical communication.

Limited liability

To the extent the law allows, Every Dear One and Ronald Ikpe are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, or for a letter that fails to send or arrives late. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end accounts that breach these terms. If we close the service, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to export what you've written where possible.

A note while this is new: these terms are written in good faith for a small personal project. If you intend to grow this or take payment at scale, it's worth having them reviewed by a legal professional in your jurisdiction.
